Introductory Classes and Sustainment Courses
Balancing of Flexible Rotors
Training packages tailored to your specific needs...

This one-day seminar covers balancing theory as applied to flexible rotors.
Real life examples are used to show how turbine shafts, paper rolls, and other rotors that change shape below their service speed, are dynamically straightened and balanced.

While there is some review of fundamental balancing principles, it is assumed that the attendee has a firm understanding of these principles as applied to rigid rotors. Vibration Solutions Balancing Theory & Applications is not a prerequisite but, it is encouraged that attendees have completed this, or a similar, course.
• Tolerance specifications for rigid & flexible rotors
• Making corrections in 3 planes
• Whip reduction methods
• Critical bending modes for soft-bearing and hard-bearing machines
• Weight vs. speed considerations
• Balancing above and below resonance

Training packages are extremely flexible and can be modified based on:
• Time / work considerations
• Theoretical (for engineers) vs. hands-on (for operators)
• Amount of vibration & balancing content
• Brand of equipment being used or considered
Training packages can be from a half-day session to 4 days based on content and number of participants. Routine training programs can also be established on an annual or semi-annual basis, to regularly address balancing issues, improve skills and maximize proficiency.
Course information is delivered in a variety of methods. On-site training seminars are developed to provide hands-on delivery and demonstration. Course material is delivered in the classroom and electronically.
